The 2012 Melbourne Drug & Health Alliance Conference:

What's the harm?

You are cordially invited to the first annual Melbourne Drug and Health Alliance Conference.

9am – 4.30pm

29th of March, 2012

The Village Roadshow Theatrette

State Library of Victoria

This annual conference presents an opportunity for professionals that work with people using drugs and alcohol and students studying in a relevant field, to gain access to some of Australia's finest thinkers on drug and alcohol clinical practice, workforce development and public policy.

‘What’s the harm?’ will showcase innovative and successful strategies undertaken interstate and internationally to reduce injecting drug related harms and deaths. Providing an opportunity for attendees to place themselves at the centre of the discussion, What’s the harm?, seeks to promote exploration of and discussion and debate about why and how we should embrace new strategies that reduce drug and alcohol related harms in the community.

With relevant, compelling presentations and an innovative interview style and Q&A, this one day event will feature:

Facilitator: Julia Medew, Health Editor, The Age Newspaper

 ·         Professor Simon Lenton, Deputy Director, National Drug Research Institute
